ULTRASONICS FOR DELICATE METAL CLEANING
Certain contaminants present a greater challenge. Fine swarf particularly in brass and aluminum machined components, polishing and lapping pastes and particles bonded to the substrate during machining processes require additional kinetic energy in order to dislodge them from the surface.
In many cases this additional mechanical action is provided by ultrasonic agitation. Ultrasonic cavitation can only become effective when the liquid in which it is propagated is fully de-gassed (air is removed). The vacuum under which Firbimatic systems operate readily provides such conditions and so ultrasonic agitation is both quick and effective in short cycle time conditions.
